Littleton Colorado

Littleton Colorado - Littleton Colorado was a hunting ground for the Arapahoe and Cheyenne Indians in the 1700 and early 1800’s. The French Trappers and the Mountain Men soon followed. In 1815 the famous “Rendezvous” was held just north in Littleton on the Bear Creek which flows out of the Rocky Mountains just to the west of Littleton. The town began to grow and by 1864 the first school house was built about 1 ½ miles north of Littleton Village. Richard Little built a flour mill for the farmers and the little farming village began to thrive. In 1904 Littleton became the county seat for the newly created Arapahoe County and by1907 the County Court House was built. The new town and county boomed in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, and became the thriving suburban community it is today. Littleton today is the home of many nice established neighborhoods, some dated but some fairly new. Littleton is convenient to downtown Denver and to the DTC office complex which is one of the major employment centers in the Denver metro area. Littleton is considered fairly close in and there are many fine homes available.
